WR Grace Will Forever Live in Our Hearts and Minds.
As this winter my Uncle Died after suffering for decades, and never did get a portable oxygen tank or other needed medical attention, I find myself pondering the whole sorted affair of WR Grace.
Those who do suffer this painful death or watch it in loved ones will always hold a grudge of sorts, not only to WR Grace and their lies - greed and corruption but to the EPA guys who knew and to the State of Montana who not only knew but even allowed the "Alleged" Victims to be kept from any justice even as recent as last summer.
The State of Montana cares so little about Victims rights in general that you are not Legally allowed to be called a "Victim" unless the Courts deem there is a crime. So your Robbed, Car Stolen, .... your beat up.. whatever crime hapens to you.. in Montana you are NOT a victim unless the Courts Prove there was a Crime and well they rarely do.
So decades of suffering... 2 summers ago I met a man around 30 in Libby, yes that young and he had painful bleeding of the bones he called it, constant chronic pain which he claimed was asbestos related. When the stories, the corruption ,the greed piles up it is a Mountain that will never be crossed. WR Grace wins and the State of Montana makes sure they do. People continue to suffer and die and still they are not allowed to legally be called "Victims".
The State of Montana knew back then what was going on and they allowed it, it was all about money and hey we are the good guys, we are creating jobs. Sure people will get sick and die painful deaths, oh well not our problem. The Money those State Folks and Politicians got 30 years ago - well their life was better for it.
As the sickness, the damage surfaced and people cried out, they were kept down as much as possible. When more and more people started Speaking Out the Lawyers got involved and they all know each other of course.. side deals.. and conflicts of interest galor. And there was NEVER a way for these folks to get any kind of justice yet many of them continue to fight even today.
The Stories that come to me are quite shocking, and well at some point one simply turns away as their suffering is not something I can ever really do anything about. Your Tax Dollars, Your Courts, your Judges well..... they stood behind WR Grace and therefore anyone who even remotely cares about your plight is quite literally HELPLESS.
I was not going to write on WR Grace anymore as family members die, as victims still get no justice and the Montana Court System as usual caters to and protects Big Money and not the Tax Paying Citizens who actually live here, vote them in and pay their wage.
However I am writing about a Trillion Dollar Stolen Patent Case and the things crossing my Cyber Desk are bringing the WR Grace stuff back up for me. As I write about the Serious Corruption in the bankruptcy courts, and this Stolen Patent Case, I See information here and there on WR Grace and I have people ask me as I am from Lincoln County Montana.
In Watching the last Trial play out, I gave up, I did not even talk about it as it was going on. For me I saw no way to get justice, every time an "Alleged" victim spoke up they were shut down, made to look like the criminal and treated cruelly by the Montana Court System.
It was too sad to watch little own comment on.
You pay for the Montana Courts to treat you bad. The Lawyers decide your Fate, big money and political motive ALWAYS wins over the Truth, your Quality of Life and the Actual Laws.
Information came up as to what the State of Montana Really knew and this was shut down. No one can stop Big Money, it does not matter how many Montanans suffer YOU are dispensable Period.
WR Grace had many - MANY years to hide assets, create different business and then go bankrupt... whatever it took to make sure that folks could not buy a portable oxygen tank.
Whatever it took to stick the Libby Residents with the Real Estate Economy Stigma they will forever have and not Spend WR Grace Billions compensating the Libby Residents.

What your Montana Judicial System allowed in the WR Grace Trial and all the stalling that led up to over Decades, and knowing that the EPA guy knew, the State knew, local politics at the time knew and still no justice was really ever served to the victims of WR Grace. And well the State of Montana does not Care.
There was so much stalling allowed that the courts decided that some of the laws and citizens rights did not even apply as to those laws were enacted later, What?
Someone told me about a year ago that it Cost $50,000 to buy a Montana Supreme Court Decision, if this is or ever was true well it beats a 1.4 Million dollar Punitive Judgement or a Hundred Million Dollar HELP LIBBY judgement, Right?
Sure money comes to Libby now and then, Millions but to me it seems like a Political play to get so and so, whoever is running at the time elected and the Real People that are suffering see no Quality of Life Changes, no Real Estate Relieve, no Medical Help that really helps and are basically told to sit down and shut up.
There will never be Justice I Suppose. I mean you cannot bring back our loved ones that died a painful long death. Really WR Grace and the Montana Judicial System is just waiting for the last of them to die and get off their back and off their dime.
